Overlake Oil is a contracted AeroShell distributor, one of only fifty nation wide and the largest of only three in the Pacific Northwest.

To better serve the aviation community, Shell recently re-organized the distribution of AeroShell products. Where formerly any Shell Lubricants distributor could purchase AeroShell products directly, now only a select group can do so.

A letter explaining the changes to distributors said, in part "The AeroShell product line has unique distribution and warehousing requirements versus other Shell products... ...Shell Aviation has reviewed and contracted with a range of distributors who will be authorized to purchase AeroShell products. These distributors have been chosen for their commitment to the aviation business, geographic locations and distribution and sales capabilities. Other distributors are encouraged to use these contracted distributors as 'mini-warehouses' for their AeroShell requirements."
