Food Grade Lubrication
If you work in an industry where incidental contact with food may occur, NSF standards require the use of H-1 lubricants. Such industries include:
- Food Processing or Packaging Plants
- Meat, Poultry, or Fish Processing Plants
- Beverage and Bottling Plants
- Dairies and Creameries
- Candy and Snack Plants
- Pharmaceutical Plants
Shell holds a leading role worldwide with its FM conventional and Cassida® synthetic based lubricants. As a Shell distributer, Overlake Oil can help you maintain consumer safety and protect the integrity of your brand by providing your operation with these NSF H1 approved lubricants.
Why synthetic based?
Traditional food grade lubricants (or ‘white oil’ based products) have helped companies meet the USDA and NSF H1 food grade requirement. But as production demands increase and technology evolves, greater stress is placed on the lubricant, requiring higher performance.
Shell Cassida® synthetic based products are formulated to provide both the high level of performance typical of synthetic products, and premium quality for applications where a food grade product is required.
A common fear is that synthetic oils cost more. The fact is, white oil based products require changing out more often than synthetics. The Shell Cassida line’s performance advantage can more than offset the higher initial cost of synthetics. And fewer change-outs mean less lubricant used and a lower carbon footprint.
Products
Shell Cassida® synthetic based products are very versatile and applicable to a full range of food industry machinery, including hydraulics, gearboxes, bearings, vacuum pumps and compressors.
